This week, I continued reading in The Last Song. The thing that I found most interesting this week for his novels was the authors use of chapters. He titles the chapters with a characters name and then tells the story from that persons point of view. Then in the following chapter, it will be a different characters name and their point of view of the same situation. For example, Ronnie meets a new group of friends and the chapter details her version of the encounter. In the following chapter, titled Marcus, it's the same encounter but his thoughts of the encounter. I think this is a great way to really let you in and allows you to know more about each character on a personal level.

PRABE #3
This week I finished The Notebook, and found a new Nicholas Sparks book that I hadn't read yet caled The Last Song. I actually saw the movie with Miley Cyrus in the video store and was surprised that I haven't heard of it sooner! Especially considering it seems that this is all I ever read....
Anyway this book is about a 17 year old girl (Ronnie) who is forced to spend the summer with her father. She had some troubles with the law and her mother was hoping that spending a summer with their father would help whip her back into shape. She seems to be trouble teen whom the author describes as gothic. She hangs out with the wrong crowd and trouble is always near. In the story I ended just after she met the lead male character, named Will. Will is a handsome young man, hanging with the "vally girls." So clearly these two seemed desined for each other right?
That's what I love about Nicholas Sparks. From this first encounte, you know that something will happen with these two, otherwise it wouldn't be in the story... but you aren't exactly sure what's going to happen next. He also has a great way of throwing you off kilter a bit too. In this book, it's Blaze. Blaze is another troubled teen has his eyes set on Ronnie. I am excited to continue on and see where this plot takes me!
Monday- Read 20 minutes of the Notebook
Tues- Ready 30 minutes of the Notebook
Thurs- Read 30 minutes of The Last Song
Saturday- Read 30 minutes of The Last Song.

PRABE #2
This week, I started to read "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Now, I have read this story probably five times, and watched the movie even more than I will admit too.. But what I love so much about this story is how vivid the authors discriptions are. He can talk about something, and I can imagine it exactly as he reads. It makes it much much easier to submerse yourself into the story. Almost as if you were a fly on the wall watching as it all unfolds. I'st more than just physical too. He has a way with his words that make you feel every emotion his character is feeling. There were parts to this story where I actually had butterflies in my stomache the first time they made love... and their first fight, I felt it. I think this is my favorite part about Nicholas Sparks.

PRABE #1
This week I read two magazines. I read the latest People magazine and the latest Parent magazine.
While neither of these are something that I really gain any learning experiences from, I find I can just excape reality and dive into the world of celebrities. My husband always makes fun of me for caring about what is happening with the latest movie stars, but let's face it... It's entertaining! Why I care about who is dating who is something even I don't understand however it lets me forget that I probably haven't showered yet today, the kid's need new school clothes, and I have peas in my hair. I am imagining what if would be like if I were wearing that Versace dress on the red carpet. It sounds silly I know, but I think it's healthy to be able to escape fir a moment or two. Or in this case, for 90 minutes.
Monday- Read people for 55 minutes.(People magazine)
Thursday- Read 65 minutes. (Parent magazine)
